RASTA Name Change

posted in: News | 0

Dear Members and Friends of the Rochester/Randolph Area Sports Trail Alliance (RASTA):

The Board of Directors has recently been engaged in extensive discussions about the name of our club. Our acronym evokes associations to a name that isn’t ours to use. Out of respect for the Rastafari religion and movement, we will soon be changing the name of our club. We hope you’ll join us in this effort.

From its birthplace in Rochester, the club has expanded to form a collective of passionate outdoor enthusiasts who are avid skiers, riders, and hikers who help create and maintain trails and backcountry zones in Rochester and beyond, to now include Randolph, Chittenden, Goshen, Pittsfield, Stockbridge, Bethel, Braintree, Brandon and Hancock.

In the spirit of the positivity that this trail club has brought to our communities, we are asking for your support – not only in embracing this change but in helping us choose a new name. We value your input and hope you’ll consider taking a few minutes to give us your suggestions. Please submit your suggestions by clicking the button below to our Google Survey or feel free to email us at info@rastavt.org. All suggestions are due by April 15th.

We continue to be dedicated to providing safe and sustainable multi-use trails for all to enjoy. Together with your support we will continue to create recreational opportunities for both young and old seeking to enjoy a more active lifestyle and work with our partners  in sowing seeds for the economic revitalization of our communities.

Thank you again for your support of our club and our mission.

Sincerely,

Ridgeline Outdoor Collective Board of Directors
